Make sure you demand a jury trial. Don't just let a judge decide by himself where you may not get the chance to tell your side of the story. Be active in preparing your own case. Try to find witnesses that can testify as to how dangerous that particular dog is.....find out if he's bitten anyone in the past. Check your local animal control dept. to see if there's any record of complaints against this dog or his owner. Demand to put the arresting officer on the stand and have him explain why his report didn't include YOUR description of what happened. Good luck.
