All of my friends love scary movies but I hate them. What can I do?

So all of my friends love scary movies. They always watch them at each other's houses and go see them in the theaters and they invite me but I hate scary movies so I never go. I feel really embarred when I have to tell them that I'm terrified of scary movies. I've tried watching them to cure my fears and a plethora of other things but they don't work. I feel like I can't hang out with my friends because they are literally ALWAYS watching scary movies after school. I feel really out of the loop. And I feel stupid for being so afraid of something that I know is not real. And whenever guys ask me out they always invite me to go see horror movies. What should I say to someone when they invite me to a scary movie? And what should I do about hardly getting to see my friends since they always watch scary movies?
