Okay i like this guy....................?

i want to talk to him. he sits behind me but he sits beside this girl amy and they talk all the time him and then the girl beside me brianna talks to him and amy. so would it be weird if i just turned around and started talking to them all the girls are really popular and they will ask everyone in the cl is they have like a (example) pencil sharpener exept me and i have one so they would rather go without than talk to me but should i still give it a shot and be like who cares about the girls and just talk to thomas and if the girls talk to me to thats all good what should i do ???? help i am confused
