Are black widows deadly?

I have about a gazillion around the outside of my house, under an old car that just sits, and in the bushes...we can't seem to get rid of them...I have 3 kids who play outside, so I was just wondering if they were deadly...we live about 40 minutes from town so getting to the hospital ASAP after a bite wont happen...Are my kids doomed?
